How to bundle clothes to sell more: discounts, sizes and packing

Set a bundle discount, list pieces that go together, price each one on its own and pack bundles neatly. How bundles work on Rewear and how to use them to sell more.

To sell more clothes through bundles, list pieces that naturally go together, such as the same size, the same style or a child's age range, price each one fairly on its own, and set a bundle discount so buyers save by taking two or more. On Rewear a buyer can pick several of your pieces into one order, pays postage once, and your bundle discount comes off automatically. Buyers like the saving and you sell several pieces in one go.

Here is how bundles work on Rewear and how to make them work for you.

How bundles work on Rewear

  • The buyer builds the bundle. On your profile they tap Bundle, pick the pieces they want, and check out once.
  • It has to come from one seller. A bundle is your pieces only, so everything travels in one parcel.
  • Postage is charged once for the whole parcel rather than for each piece.
  • The parcel size is worked out from the pieces in it, so choosing each piece's parcel size accurately when you list keeps the postage right.
  • Your bundle discount comes off automatically when a buyer takes two or more of your pieces together.

If a buyer has an accepted offer on one of the pieces, that piece is priced at the offer, and your bundle discount applies on top.

Setting your bundle discount

You set your bundle discount once, as a percentage, in Edit profile under Bundle discount %. It can be anything up to 50%, and it is taken off when a buyer takes two or more of your pieces together. When it is set, your profile shows buyers the saving.

How much to offer depends on your pieces:

  • 5 to 10% is a gentle nudge that many buyers notice.
  • 15 to 20% works well if you have lots of lower-priced pieces and want them gone.
  • Higher is worth it for a full clear-out, but check you are still happy with what you will receive for each piece.

Remember that on Rewear there is no selling fee, so the bundle discount is the only thing that comes off your side. Buyers pay postage and a buyer protection fee of 30p + 3%.

List pieces that go together

A buyer bundles when they find more than one thing they want in your wardrobe. Make that easy.

  • Sizes that match. If you are clearing out your own clothes, most will be in your size, which is ideal. Say the size clearly in every title.
  • Children's clothes by age. Parents love buying a season's worth in one size. Our guide to selling kids' clothes has more.
  • Pieces that work together: a top and the skirt you wore it with, a suit's jacket and trousers if you are selling them separately, or a few basics in the same shade.
  • A good mix of prices, so a buyer can add a cheaper piece to a bigger one.

Mention it in your descriptions: "More in size 12 on my profile, with a bundle discount for two or more."

Price each piece on its own

Each piece in a bundle is still its own listing, with its own price. Price each one fairly, using condition, brand and season, and let the bundle discount do the rest. Our guide on how to price second-hand clothes explains the method.

Avoid inflating prices to make room for the discount. Buyers compare, and a piece priced too high will not get into anyone's bundle in the first place.

When a buyer asks for a deal on several pieces

Sometimes a buyer messages to ask what you would take for three or four pieces. Point them to the Bundle button so the discount and single postage are applied for them. If they also make offers on individual pieces, our guide to handling offers explains how to answer.

Packing a bundle

  1. Check every piece against its listing before you pack.
  2. Fold each piece separately into a flat rectangle.
  3. Stack them with the heaviest at the bottom and anything delicate on top, in tissue.
  4. Use an inner bag against rain, and a mailer or box big enough for the stack without squashing it.
  5. Weigh the finished parcel to be sure it is comfortably within its size.

Our guide to folding and packing clothes for posting shows the folds for each kind of garment.

Post within five days of the sale using the prepaid label from the app, and keep proof of posting until the buyer confirms it has arrived.

Common mistakes

  • No discount set. Buyers still save on postage, but a discount is what gets them browsing.
  • Sizes all over the place. Bundles happen when a buyer finds several things that fit them.
  • Inaccurate parcel sizes on individual listings, which throw out the postage for the whole bundle.
  • Pricing everything up to cover the discount.

The short version

Set a bundle discount in Edit profile, list pieces that go together, and price each one fairly on its own. On Rewear buyers tap Bundle on your profile, pay postage once and get your discount automatically. Pack each piece neatly in one parcel and post it within five days.
