Selling fee calculator: what you pay and what you keep
What does it actually cost to sell a coat? Put in a price and see what the buyer pays, and what you are left with, on Rewear and on the other places you might list it.

Why Vinted is not in the table
Vinted no longer publishes a fixed rate. Its own pages say the Vinted fee — the mandatory platform fee it charges buyers, which its UK terms called the Buyer Protection fee before 8 October 2026 — is "usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8", and that the amount varies by item, order value and order type and is shown in each listing's price breakdown. We are not willing to turn a range into a single number and put a competitor's name next to it.
What matters is the bottom of that range. 3% + 30p is exactly what we charge, so a Vinted order at the low end costs a buyer precisely what a Rewear order costs. We are not cheaper than Vinted at its best — we are level with it. And that range is only what Vinted says it usually charges, so some Vinted orders may cost a buyer less than the same order would here.
Vinted sellers, like ours, pay nothing to sell.
The small print that changes the answer
- Rewear — No seller fee. The seller receives the full item price.
- eBay — Charged in bands, so the effective rate falls as the price rises. Applies to purchases from UK-based private sellers only — not business sellers, vehicles, property or classified ads. eBay includes its fee in the price shown on the listing, and so does Rewear, so the two headline prices compare like for like. UK-based private sellers pay no selling fee when an item sells, though eBay charges for extras such as more than 300 listings a month, optional listing upgrades or posting overseas. Source
- Depop — Depop calls this the Marketplace fee. Its published wording is "up to 5% ... plus a fixed amount of up to £1", and it shows the exact amount only at checkout — so the figure here is a ceiling and the real fee is often lower. UK sellers pay no selling commission, but 2.9% + 30p payment processing is deducted from the payout, charged on the item price plus postage plus tax rather than the item alone, so the seller column understates it. Where this comparison flatters us
- Below £5, eBay is cheaper for a buyer than we are. On a £3 item eBay charges 31p against our 39p. The two are identical at £5.
- Above £640, eBay is cheaper again, because its rate drops to 2% on the part above £300 while ours stays at 3% all the way up. On a £1,000 piece eBay charges £26.70 against our £30.30.
- We are not cheaper than Vinted at its best. The bottom of Vinted's published range is 3% + 30p, which is exactly our fee.
- Showing Depop at its published ceiling overstates what a Depop buyer usually pays, because Depop only commits to "up to" that amount.
- Charging sellers nothing is not something that sets us apart from Vinted or from eBay private sellers, who also pay no selling fee. It is a real difference only against Depop.
- A lower fee buys you a smaller marketplace. Rewear is new, so a piece listed here is seen by far fewer buyers, and a lower fee on something that does not sell is worth nothing.
